Hackers, researchers and industry professionals alike converged on Caesars Palace, Las Vegas, to address the biggest security concerns of today (and tomorrow) at Black Hat USA 2011. And of course, the GFI Advanced Technology Group (ATG) was there, demonstrating the latest in cutting-edge security solutions.
“Hacker mania” is how Omar Aldahir, ATG lead security analyst, described the scene. As the 6,000-plus attendees hit the expo floor, ATG made an exciting – and much anticipated – announcement: GFI SandBox 3.4.
This latest update to GFI SandBox, a leader in malware analysis tools, includes new features such as an enhanced interface with built-in PDF reporting. Attendees rushed the GFI Software booth to see SandBox in action with live demos from our ATG team. GFI VIPRE Antivirus SDK and ThreatTrack were also featured and GFI gave away $100 cash, three times a day, to lucky booth visitors.
But it wasn’t all work and no play. Black Hat is the ethical hacker’s playground, where bragging rights bring out the best and brightest. Highlights included hacked insulin pumps and car systems and the annual Pwnie Awards, which celebrate achievements and failures in security for the year.
Join ATG October 5-7 at VB2011 in Barcelona, Spain.
Special thanks to Kendra Wallace and Omar Aldahir.
