Our email archiving solution, GFI MailArchiver has been named Software Product of the Year in the Network Computing Awards 2010. GFI MailArchiver beat stiff competition such as CA, SANtechnology and Entuity, among others, to win this prestigious award.

The Network Computing Awards serve to recognize the products, services and companies that have most impressed readers of Network Computing, one of the UK’s longest established publications dedicated to network management. A total of 20,000 votes by 7,000 individuals were cast.

“This is another excellent result for GFI and for the team behind GFI MailArchiver. This product is the one of the leading and most cost-effective archiving solution for SMBs and is an essential tool for businesses that are facing ever-increasing volumes of email data and/or need to comply with strict regulations and laws. Apart from releasing a new version of the software with improved and new functionality, we are also looking into mirroring GFI MailArchiver with a hosted service,” GFI’s CEO Walter Scott said.

“Many businesses still underestimate the need to archive email correspondence. Research carried out by GFI Software in the UK last year found that only 41% of SMBs have rules stating where emails should be stored. Furthermore, 50% of 269 respondents showed a serious lack of awareness of the important legislative and compliance changes in this area over the past five years and the increased risk of liability if they do not archive emails,” Scott added.
